| How to find us... |
Take the A351 from Corfe Castle into Swanage.
Turn first left after Swanage Middle School.
Follow the lane for about a mile - until you reach a T-junction, then
turn left.
Follow signs along this narrow country lane until you see the gate
leading into the Knitson Farm Tourer's Site. |
| |
 |
| |
| NB - the lanes are very narrow - please do follow
our directions... |
|
| Arrival and Departure |
We prefer a Saturday changeover.
|
| Please leave or arrive before
midday.Once you have found the site gate, there is a lay-by
where you can pull in if you want to take a look around on foot. |
| Please don't arrive too early, in case the pitches are
still occupied. |
|
| Pitching |
|
| Once you have found your pitch, please make sure you
park up at least 20 feet away from anyone else. This is for fire regulations,
as well as to give you and your neighbours some privacy. |
| There are no restrictions, so park in any direction
you wish - but please make sure you check your brakes - some of the
pitches are sloping! |
| Don't forget, you need to have your own washing and
toilet facilities... |
|
| Paying |
| Jane will call by each day to collect the rent and return
calor gas bottles. We normally collect the rent for the whole period
- it helps to confirm how long you intend to stay. |
| We are a busy, working farm, so we are not always easy
to find. There is no need to come to the farmhouse - we will find
you! |

| Rules |
|
| We don't have very many - just our own version of
the Countryside Code... |
| When you are in the countryside there are some important
things to remember. The Countryside Code ensures that the countryside
remains a pleasant and safe place for everyone to visit. While you
are with us, we would like you to remember the following: |
- Enjoy the countryside and respect its life and work. We are
a working farm, and the farm itself is not open to the public
- but there are two 'open farms' close by. We try to minimise
farming activity and noise near the campsite, but please remember
that some things like haymaking just have to be done when the
weather is right.
- Dogs are welcome under control, but please keep on leads at
all times when on footpaths and bridleways. Don't let them bark
continuously - for the sake of other visitors as well as the livestock
and wildlife.
- Keep to public paths across farmland. You will come across
cattle sheep and horses on our footpaths... Leave livestock, crops
and machinery alone - and be wary of all the animals you come
across.
- Use gates and stiles to cross fences, hedges and walls. Always
close gates behind you. Fences are there to keep animals in and
people out - they are there for safety reasons and should not
be crossed.
- Take all rubbish home with you; help to keep all water clean,
and protect wildlife, plants and trees.
- Take special care on country roads.
- Try not to make too much noise - loud noise disturbs both animals
and other people. Please respect other people's privacy.
- Be aware of fire hazards - do not light fires or drop cigarettes
.
- The Purbeck hills are a great place to fly kites - but please
not on the site or near livestock. We would be happy to show you
the best places away from other caravans and animals.
